Volunteer assignments for Thursday's meet/little swimmers
Volunteering
Thank you to everyone who has chosen a job for the meet on Thursday. As it's a home meet, we need more volunteers than usual -- and to call these jobs "volunteer" is a bit misleading. There is no option to work the meet -- if you have a child swimming, you are required to work at least one half. If you have older swimmers and the option to have both parents work a half or one can work the entire meet, that is very helpful and may be requested of you.
Suzanne Beaty and Elizabeth Hale are contacting families from whom we haven't heard and will assign you a job. Please be gracious to them as they do this on all our behalf -- and if you have a preference for this meet or future ones, take a moment and select it online. It will help all of us out.
Little Swimmers
If you have a 6-under swimmer who is just starting out, please know that there is no expectation that they try to swim in a meet. My goal is to have every child complete an event by the end of the season but for some of our smallest swimmers, it may be our last meet before that happens. Please do RSVP "No" and list your child's name in the comments field -- talking to a coach poolside doesn't always ensure that they remember who's swimming a given meet. With 120 swimmers, it's a lot to keep track. Coach Kyle uses the RSVP report to prepare the lineups for a meet and it's our repository for swimmer availability.
As always, let me know if you have questions,
Maureen
