General Manager(s) needed for 2011

After two years as your swim team general manager, and this year also coordinating meets, I am looking for two brave individuals who will work with me for the 2011 season to learn these responsibilities so that at the end of the season I can step down.  Don't be daunted by the list of responsibilities that follows -- you will receive great support from our parents and there is nothing like the feeling of watching a 6-under swimmer complete the length of the pool for the first time.  It's a reward beyond definition.  

Swim team general manager duties:

Attract sponsors and collect sponsorship monies, write thank you letters to sponsors, swimmer sponsor thank-you's
Promote, advertise and grow swim team membership
Hire/fire/manage coaches
Train coaches in Team Manager/Meet Manager software
Manage payroll for coaches
Track expenses, manage team finances and budget, reconcile monthly finances
Manage swim team assets (financial and real)
Coordinate storage of swim team equipment in Neely Farm basement
Provide storage for environmentally sensitive swim team assets (starter box, sound system, meet equipment, swim team property)
Repair and/or replace equipment as necessary (e.g. new stopwatches, repair of starter box mike)
Interface with league -- attend training, pick up ribbons, manage correspondence, track swimmer league registration and payment
Communicate and manage registration process (including medical release forms)
Collect fees from swimmers
Coordinate with vendors for swim suit purchases, t-shirts, trophies, team photos
Set practice schedule
Coordinate with pool committee for use of pool prior to public opening, meet schedules, final party
Manage computer assets (upgrade Team Manager/Meet Manager software, load swim league meet template, load swimmer data)
Manage meets
Coordinate with other team reps prior to meets
Put out directional signs in neighborhood, close off turn-around, open lower parking lot
Manage starter (parking spot, DQ expectations, get water during meets, pay at the end of the meet)
Assist with merging meets on computer, consolidating events (home meets)

Starter sheet
Meet programs
Bullpen information
Judges' recorder/Master recorder paperwork
Educate volunteers on meet responsibilities
Ensure setup of sound system
Provide motivating music during long events/relays
Ensure timely management of meet (monitor computer entries, meet progress, find missing swimmers)
Handle controversies during meets (clarity of roles, weather issues)
Manage meet cleanup (you are the last person to put away equipment, close up lower parking lot, collect directional signs, take out the trash, lock doors and turn out the lights)
Oversee meet volunteers (via amazing coordinators Hale and Beaty)
Oversee concessions for home meets (via indispensable coordinators Humphreys, Brady, Follert, and Grill Team)
Load cash boxes for swim meets (grill and concessions), reconcile amounts and deposit proceeds (retain necessary amount for next home meet)
Pay pizza vendor the day after meets and return pizza warmers
Manage website -- registration, load family and swimmer data, meet information, RSVPs
Coordinate with coaches swimmer recognition, doughnuts and ribbons, swimmer events
Coordinate team outing (e.g. laser tag)
Manage swim team final party
Coach recognition
Swimmer recognition (trophies, swimmers aging off the team)
Food/beverage
