Championship Meet Information

We are required to provide two timers for the Championship Meet on Friday.  Please contact me directly if you can take on this role.  I will need to provide you with a stop watch and you are asked to report for duty at 2pm.  We will also need adults to assist with our swimmers.  Please let me know if you can/would like to do this.

The seating for our team is upstairs.  We are asked to limit how many seats we reserve to just how many that we need.  Please be sensitive to this.  FYI, GA Tech has decided to charge $5/car for parking this year.

Below is everything you need to know about Friday's Championship meet directly from the head of our league:

1. There will be a coaches meeting at 30 minutes prior to the start of each divisional session in the girls bullpen located by the diving well, make sure at least one coach from your team attends the meeting.  There will be no meeting on Sunday.

2. Teams will be allowed into the facility to set up their team area no earlier than 90 minutes prior to your divisional session.  Teams are requested to not leave items in the facility overnight on Saturday.

3. Late entries will be accepted on a lane availability basis for $20 per ind. event and $40 per relay fees must be paid at the time of entry.  Late entries for each session will be cut off 45 minutes prior to the start of each session.  TEAMS DO NOT NEED TO SCRATCH SWIMMERS FOR DIVISIONAL EVENTS.

4. Note that the order of events for each divisional session will be as follows:  6 & Under Free Relays, All Medley Relays, 6 & Under Free Events, All Remaining Free Relays, 6 & Under Back Events, then the regular order of remaining individual events.  This will get the 6 & Unders done in about 75-90 minutes.  We will provide each team with extra deck credentials to help shepherd the short folks to the blocks for relay and to the bullpen for their swims.

5. Unless your swimmers are going to their events when they are called, encourage your swimmers to stay in their team area during the meet.  ALL TEAMS SHOULD MARK THE BACKS OF THEIR 10 & UNDER SWIMMERS WITH A SHARPIE WITH THE SWIMMERS NAME AND THEIR TEAM NAME THIS HELPS THE BULLPEN.  Swimmers are not permitted to wander around the facility during the meet.

6. While there is no assigned seating, teams should sit in the designated team seating areas, either on deck or in the stands.  Teams are not allowed to sit in sections 103-109, those are for spectators only.  Take only the seats you need for that session.  Teams hoarding more seats than they need will be relocated to the parking deck.

7. Only swimmers and coaches will be allowed on deck during the meet. Swimmers should report for their events when called.  Swimmers should enter the pool deck via the back hallway.  Use the stairs at the back of the Campus Recreation Center to access this hallway, not the turnstiles at the front of the facility.

8. During the meet there will be a bullpen for all swimmers under 12 for the individual events only.  Teams are responsible for getting their relays to the blocks.  Teams will be responsible for getting their swimmers to the bullpen when their event is called to report.

9. For relay events teams will be permitted to have a couple of helpers on deck to make sure their relays get to the blocks.  Teams will be provided Relay Worker passes to get these helpers on deck.  Individuals without a pass will NOT be allowed on deck.

10. Coaches will not be allowed on the bulkheads during the meet, except for relay events to help line their swimmers up.

11. The top 10 relay times, top 30 individual 10 and under times and top 20 11 and over individual times from the combined results of the divisional meets will return for the Championship Final on Sunday.  For the Championship session teams will be allowed to only advance their fastest relay from the divisional meets.  Both the divisional and championship sessions will be scored and team awards will be provided for each meet.

12. RESULTS FROM DIVISIONALS WILL BE UPDATED AFTER EACH SESSION AND POSTED AT www.atlantaswimming.com.  THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN FIND OUT IF YOUR SWIMMER HAS QUALIFIED TO SWIM IN SUNDAY‚S FINALS.

13. Scratches for the Championship session should be communicated as soon as possible to allow notification of alternates.  Teams will be provided a scratch form when they get their heat sheets for their divisional session.  That scratch sheet is due back to the meet manager before the end of that team‚s divisional session.
