Fantastic first day and the meets are loaded

The water was warm, the kids were willing -- it was a great first day of practice! This whole week looks to have excellent conditions for the kids.

If you have a brand new swimmer and one who isn't fully confident in the water, please reassure them that we are sensitive to that and won't be dunking them or tossing them in the deep end. It may be that we spend some time working from the ledge and help them develop their skills and confidence. That said, it's important that they leave the floaties at home.

If you have by some reason not turned in your registration forms (particularly the medical waiver), that must be completed before your child swims today. Please turn it in to me at practice. This is a liability issue.

The website is loaded with the meets for the season. Please RSVP to meets that you know your child can AND cannot attend. And while you're doing so, take a moment and choose your Volunteer role. Every family is required to provide an adult to work at least one-half of each meet (and on home meets, we may require more help than that). It's much better if you choose your role rather than having one assigned to you. Everyone is happier.

Finally, we urgently need a coordinator of Concessions for our three home meets of the season. This would be a wonderful job shared by two people and is a huge source of funding for our team. We have the opportunity to make lots of money by hosting three home meets but this also means we need someone to pick up supplies and ensure families donate items for sale such as pasta salads and desserts. Please contact me or Elizabeth Hale ASAP.

See you at the pool,

Maureen
