DISTANCE DAY
Hey Mighty Mallards- It’s that time again! The 4th annual Distance Day will be held on Monday, June 17th. For those who have never participated, Distance Day is a day in which we really challenge our swimmers to see what they are capable of! Each age group is given a different distance that they must swim in their normal practice time. Swimmers can swim whatever strokes they want as long as they do not touch the bottom the entire time. Coaches will be at the end of each lane tallying their laps for them. If the swimmers complete the challenge, then they will receive a personalized tie dye t-shirt at the end of the year party.
There is NO charge for this event as long as you RSVP by Saturday at noon. When you do so, please leave your child’s shirt size in the comment box so the coaches know what to get.
If you forget to RSVP, your child can still swim but they must bring $5.
We highly encourage the swimmers to eat a good healthy breakfast before practice and to bring a water bottle to put at the end of their lane.
Distances:
6&unders: 500 (20 laps)
7&8: 1250 (50 laps)
9&10: 2000 (80 laps)
11&ups: 2500 (100 laps)
This is a great opportunity to see what your children are capable of! If you have any questions or if you are unsure if your RSVP went through, please do not hesitate to contact the coaches. We want to ensure that this is a fun and rewarding experience for our Mallards!! Please do not forget to RSVP by Saturday at noon!
Thanks,
The Coaching Staff
