On behalf of the Swim Team Board and Assistant Coach Emily Berg, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Schremmer as Head Coach for the 2014 swim season. Mark brings a history of proven success as a certified USA Swim Coach and is currently Aquatics Director and Head Coach at the Fowler YMCA. Please join me in welcoming Mark and his family to our swim team family.
Coach Mark has been the Head Coach at the Fowler YMCA for the past two seasons after two years as parent volunteer coach. During the past year he became the aquatics director, overseeing the swim lesson program, pool operations, and community enrichment programs.
Under Coach Mark’s leadership the Fowler Fins Swim Team has seen tremendous growth in the program, as well as the development of swimmers on the team. The Fowler Fins just completed their second consecutive undefeated Metro Atlanta Swimming Championship season.
In 2012, the team became a member of USA Swimming and in 2013 had nine swimmers qualify for the 14 & Under Georgia State Championships. In 2014, the team sent 33 swimmers to the state championships.
Coach Mark swam competitively from the age of eight, through college, and continues to compete in US Masters Swimming today. He is a certified USA Swimming coach and is recognized as a Level II Masters Swim Coach by the American Swim Coaches Association.
Coach Mark’s first focus is on teaching swimmers proper technique that maximizes efficiency and speed in all four strokes. He then prepares season training plans for his swimmers to achieve top performances for major season-ending competitions.
Mark and his wife Sandy live in Johns Creek with their two children.
With our new coaching staff and improvements we’ve made across the board, this year will be the best Mallards swim year, ever!
