Neely Farm Mallard News, Week of May 19

Neely Farm Families,

The summer swim team season is off to a great start. We are so impressed with all of our swimmers - what a great group of children and coaches! We are finishing week two of seven tonight and then gear up for five straight meet weeks. We continue to work on kicking, swimming drills, endurance and speed all at the same time.

Tonight we will do time trials at practice so we can get times for as many swimmers as we can before heading into our first meet next Thursday. Every swimmer will only be timed for each of the four strokes that they will race during the summer - 25 yards of each stroke for 10-and-unders, 50 yards for 11-and-ups.

Reminder: No swim practice on Monday! Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend! Here are a couple other announcements for the week:

New practice times

Please see Katie's announcement about new morning practice times that go into effect next week:

6 & UP 8:30- 9:00 am
7-8 & 9-10 9:00-10:00 am

Evening practices remain the same. Please visit the updated Revised Swim Team Calendar for all important dates.

Swim suit status

We received all of our girls suit orders and they have been delivered to you. The boys suits are on the way and should be here in time for our first meet. Coach Emily will hand them out during swim practice once they arrive.

Private swim lessons

If you are interested in private swim lessons from coach Mark or Coach Emily, please let us know. During swim practice, we provide as much group instruction as possible, but it is challenging to work one-on-one with each child when there are 40 swimmers in the pool. If you have questions, please contact one of us before or after practice or via email. Coach Mark can be reached at [email protected]. Coach Emily can be reached at [email protected].

See you at the pool.
