Happy Fathers Day! We only have two weeks left in our summer league season - time is flying by! We had a big win against Haynes Landing on Thursday - the final score was 408.5 to 381.5 in favor of the good guys! Thanks again to our volunteers. Everyone made their events! Just as important, the Haynes Landing folks had a great time - we received so many compliments that this was the best meet they had ever been to. Way to go Team Mallards!

RSVP for the Horseshoe Bend meet by 8:00 pm Sunday night

Our next meet is Thursday at home against Horseshoe Bend. As of early Sunday morning we had only 68 out of 117 swimmers registered for the meet (see the list below.) We have 8 swimmers who are not attending and 33 swimmers who we need an RSVP from by the 8:00 pm deadline tonight to be able to enter them in the meet.

We also still need 18 volunteers to run a successful home meet. If your child swims in the meet, you need to volunteer!

Haynes Landing meet recap

You can see the meet results here. What a great meet! On paper, it didn't look like we had much of a chance. They had 132 swimmers to our 99. We fell behind early, but we never gave up. By the the IM events, we drew even and then poured on the gas. We had so many IM sweeps - it showed how well rounded our swimmers are in all four strokes. It was impressive to see!

We had 122 best times out of 177 individual swims (not counting entries with NTs.) That's 70% - more than two out of every 3 races was a personal best time for our swimmers. Awesome!

RSVP for Distance Day with t-shirt size

Please RSVP for The 4th Annual Distance Day on Monday, June 16. See Coach Emily's email for details. Please include each swimmer's t-shirt size in the comments section of the RSVP. Each age group is given a different distance that they must swim in their normal practice time. If the swimmers complete the challenge, then they will receive a personalized tie dye t-shirt at the end of the year party.

Click here to RSVP for our second team dinner at California Pizza Kitchen on Wednesday, June 18. This is a great opportunity for our swimmers to have fun and for parents to socialize. Let's see what the kids have in store for Coach Mark this week!

Saturday stroke clinic

We had our second Saturday stroke clinic and spent time mastering backstroke and breaststroke turns, as well as breaststroke kicking. We also reviewed many of the technical rules for all strokes so we can help our swimmers avoid those dreaded DQs. So make sure your 7-and-older swimmers attend these informative Saturday clinics!
