It's so hard to believe we are down to the last week of our summer league season! We had a tough loss in our meet last Thursday. We were ahead at the halfway point, but the other team had a great second half and pulled out the win. The final score was Horseshoe Bend 438, Neely Farm 355. Thanks again to you, our wonderful volunteers. Our swimmers stayed in their bullpens and everyone made their races! The food was great and the meet ran so smoothly we were done by 8:30!

We have a lot going almost every day this week. Our last dual meet is on Wednesday; we have a modified practice schedule on Thursday; our ASA Divisional meet is on Friday; the end-of-season team party is on Saturday, and the ASA Championship meet is on Sunday!!! Please watch your email closely this week for details!

RSVP for the Woodfield meet by 8:00 pm Sunday night

Our next meet is Wednesday at Woodfield, located at 405 Silver Pine Trail, Roswell, GA 30076. As of early Sunday morning we had only 72 out of 115 swimmers registered for the meet (see the list below.) We have 4 swimmers who are not attending and 39 swimmers who we need an RSVP from by the 8:00 pm deadline tonight to be able to enter them in the meet. We also still need 12 volunteers to run a successful away meet. If your child swims in the meet, please volunteer!

Our current team record is 2 wins and 2 losses. Our team needs EVERYONE participating in this meet to give us the very best chance at a second consecutive winning season. Please help us out and RSVP and volunteer now so that we can get as many swimmers into the meet as possible.

Please RSVP for the End-of-Season Party on Saturday, June 28.  It will be our last chance for the whole team to get together and have some extra fun! We will have a season recap and a lot of awards for our swimmers. You won't want to miss it!

Horseshoe Bend meet recap

You can see the Horseshoe Bend meet results here. Even though we lost, we saw some amazing improvement in the meet! We had 78 best times out of 189 individual swims (not counting entries with NTs.) That's best times in two out of every five races which is very good this late in the season. What is really impressive is that we had 16 swims where a swimmer improved over 10% or more - 3 seconds or more on a 30 second race! And we had another 25 swims where swimmers improved 5 to 10%. Your coaches are very pleased with our swimmers' improvement!

Swimmers of the Week (Goggles) for most improved swims:

• Boys: Noah Brown - 20% improvement in the 9-10 Boys 50 free
• Girls: Ellie Whitesides - 32% improvement in the 7-8 Girls 25 fly

Spirit Award of the Week (Towel):

• Rachel Berg for swimming 8 races in her last home meet while doing an awesome job as a junior coach!

ASA Divisional Psych Sheet and other info

Our ASA Divisional meet is in the afternoon on Friday, June 27. Click here for the most recent Psych Sheet. For those of you newer to swimming, the psych sheet is a ranking of all the swimmers in each event by entry time so the kids can get psyched up!

We have seen a huge increase in Neely Farm Mallard participation, up from 30 last year to 53 this year. That is outstanding! We expect to take many of those to the ASA Championships on Sunday, too. Watch for more information coming out later this week.
