Parents,

We've started off with great practices, despite one rain out this week.  We know that with school ending soon parents are incredibly busy with last minute activities.  However, here are a few key reminders:

  • Most importantly, PLEASE talk with your children about the importance of listening to their coaches.  This is especially important for the 6 and under swimmers.  Listening to the coaches aids in the safety of all swimmers and will help them to improve their strokes.  Parents, you know your children best.  If your child is one who needs frequent reminders to pay attention, please remind them as they get into the water to pay attention to their coaches.  Please know that coaches may ask your child to sit out of the water at times to ensure the safety of all in the pool.
  • If your child plans to swim in our first meet on Thursday 5/28/15 here at our pool you must RSVP by midnight on Friday 5/22/15.  RSVP's will be locked at that time.  If your child is entered in the meet you must also choose a volunteer slot.  These also will be locked at midnight this Friday.  If your child is signed up to swim and you have not signed up to volunteer you will be assigned a volunteer spot.  The meets are great fun for the kids.  We are lucky to have the first meet here at our Neely Farm pool.  Hopefully, this will help new swimmers feel more comfortable with the meet process.
  • RSVP for the team breakfast held on Friday morning 5/29/15.  This is a free breakfast for swimmers and coaches and will be held at the pool just after meet ribbons are handed out.
  • No practice this Thursday 5/21-Monday 5/25. Morning practices begin on Tuesday, 5/26/15.

Thank you for entrusting your children to our coaches and the Mallards swim team.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
