Neely Mallards Swim Team Update

Hello Mallard Parents,

Swim practice is off to a great start. We have a lot of information to share with you, so you and your children will have a fun and successful swim season.  Please read the entire email.

  • Thu Practice Update
  • Swimmer Code of Conduct
  • Mandatory Parent Meeting & Swimsuits are in
  • Volunteer
  • Remind
  • Philanthropy Friday
  • Mock Meet

Thu practice, May 18

  • All ages: each swimmer needs to have goggles at EVERY practice. You may purchase them at Target, Dicks or Walmart.
  • Ages 11 and up:  please wear tennis shoes to the pool

Each swimmer is required to sign the swimmer code of conduct (attached). Please review the contract with your child(ren) so they understand the expectations. You may have all of your children sign the same code of conduct.  Please print out the signature page and bring it to practice.  You may leave it with Beth Ostapiuk, Jennifer Youngman, Jacquelyn Hughes or bring it to the parent meeting on May 22nd. We must have this signed in order for your child(ren) to swim in the first meet on June 2, 2017.

Please plan to attend the mandatory parent meeting:

  • Monday, May 22nd
  • 4:30 and 5:30, you only need to attend one meeting
  • NF Clubhouse

Swim suits & team shirts will be handed out at the meeting.

We still have several volunteer positions open. Please go online and RSVP your swimmer and register for your volunteer positions. Volunteer sign-up will be open via the Neely Mallards website until May 26, 2017. Please volunteer for each meet that your child(ren) will be swimming.  On May 26th, the Volunteer Registration will close, and swim meet Volunteer positions will be assigned for those who missed the open registration.

  1. Each family is required to sign-up for and work at least 1 session (1 volunteer role) per swim meet that your child swims. The regular season consists of 5 swim meets.
  2. Our home swim meets require extra volunteers, and we need EVERY FAMILY to volunteer to work 1 additional session (2 volunteer roles total) at 1 home meet, OR, one role in one of the following team events:
    • Mock Meet
    • Team Kickoff Breakfast
    • Team Tie Dying
    • Team Movie Night
    • ASA Divisional
    • End of Season Swim Banquet
    • Silver Linings Fundraiser

We would like to help you clean out your closets. The Neely Mallards Swim Team is supporting the HOPE4DV -- Hope for Domestic Violence by providing gently used or new clothes. All clothing must be CLEAN and folded into boxes or shopping bags. Please bring your donations to the clubhouse on Friday, June 23rd, at 9:30am.
