Mallard Weekly Update

Hello Mallard Parents,

Our first home meet is this week! It is going to be a busy week. Swim team practices change to morning practice, starting on Tuesday. Please read the entire email. We don't want you or your child left out on any of the fun!

  • Team Dinner - this Wednesday at Nemoe's Tavern & Grill
  • First Home Meet
  • Volunteers
  • Dip Dye Friday
  • Movie Night at the Pool
  • Distance Day Challenge - please RSVP
  • Upcoming Events

Madison has asked that when you RSVP, in the notes/comment section below the swimmer's names, please write in your child's favorite or best 2 events. Your child may not be able to swim that at every meet, but she will try to be as accommodating as possible without sacrificing the win.

Team Dinner

Please support our food sponsors. They donate food for us to sell at our home meets, so let's show our appreciation by attending the team dinner this Wednesday, June 7:

  • Fried Shrimp & Fries $4.95
  • Chicken Fingers & Fries $4.95
  • Fried Fish & Fries $4.95
  • Hamburger & Fries $4.95

Please RSVP and sign up for volunteer positions now for ALL swim meets.

Dip Dye Friday

Please bring something white to Fun Friday, so you can participate in the Team Dip Dye. It is similar to tie dying, but we will use buckets of dye. Please bring a grocery bag to put your dyed shirt in. Please keep these instructions:

  • Leave in plastic bag until you get home
  • When you remove clothes from dye bath, rinse in warm, then cool water until water runs clear. (Warm water helps to rinse off surface dye more effectively.)
  • Wash your fabric/clothes in warm water with mild detergent and then rinse thoroughly in cool water. Machine dry or hang dry.
  • CARING FOR DYED ITEMS. For the first two or three times, wash your dyed item by itself in cool water with a small amount of non-bleaching detergent. Always wash your dyed clothing with similar colors in cool water with mild detergent.

Movie Night at the Pool

We are so excited to host Movie Night at the pool again this year. Bring your favorite floatie and relax in the pool while you watch Disney's Moana. The movie will begin at dusk (8:30ish) or as soon as it is dark enough to watch the movie.

Distance Day

Hope your swimmer will participate in the annual Distance Day Challenge. This has been a Mallard tradition for a few years now. Each age group swimmer will be challenged to swim a specified number of laps within an hour.
