11-12 Boys Discipline Issues
Dear 11-12 Boys Swim Team Parents,
Unfortunately, it has come to the Swim Team Board's attention that the 11/12 Boys have been acting inappropriately during swim team practice. This behavior includes general goofing off, sitting on the ropes, throwing pool equipment, not listening to the coaches, and being disrespectful to the coaches. Their behavior is distracting to the other swimmers and not fair to the coaches who are trying to help them. In addition, it is preventing the boys from learning and becoming better swimmers. Coach Madison has talked with the boys and even had them get out of the pool and do push-ups for bad behavior, but nothing has worked. We are asking you (the parents), to talk to your child about appropriate behavior (read the Code of Conduct form with them, attached), and come to the pool and watch them.
If their behavior does not change, further disciplinary action may be taken to include, but not limited to, sitting out of practice, doing extra laps after practice, missing a meet or being asked to leave the team.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Debbie Jaudon or Beth Ostapiuk.
Item 15 from the Swimmer Code of Conduct:
15. I will not talk back to, or be disrespectful to my coaches during practices and meets. I understand that the team has no tolerance for such behavior and I may be asked to leave practice, suspended or dismissed from team, at the coach’s discretion.
