Mock Meet Information

Happy last day of school to all who celebrate!

Here is the information for Thursday's Mock Meet:

TIMES

  • Swimmers arrive at 4:30 pm to take the team picture. Swimmers should wear their Swim Team t-shirt and team suit. *If you did not pick up team shirt this week, please arrive a few minutes early and pick up by the picnic table.
  • Warm-up begins at 5:00 pm
  • Swim Meet begins at 5:30 pm (will last until ~8:30pm)

Parent info:

  • We have 2 job shifts that still need to be covered. Please sign up for these on SwimTopia
    • 9/10 boys bullpen
    • Bullpen coordinator 2nd shift
  • Coach Lauren let the swimmers know at practice that if they are assigned an event they’re uncomfortable with or unsure how to swim, they are not required to swim it. We encourage swimmers to try new events, but they should never be forced to participate if they’re not ready. When declaring your swimmer for a meet, please share any preferences or feedback about strokes or events with the coaches (in Swimtopia).
  • Volunteers will pick up volunteer name badge by the clubhouse/picnic table. If your job requires a clipboard, you will find it here. If you are 2nd shift, wait for the “shift change announcement” to pick up the clipboard.
  • If you have questions about job assignments, email or text Elizabeth Magee: [email protected] 678-640-4055.

Info for new families:

  • Please write your swimmer's name on everything - shirt, towels, etc.
  • Swimmers are organized by age group in their “bullpens" under tents. A volunteer “Bullpen parent” is in charge of making sure that swimmers are lined up for their assigned events. They will walk the swimmers from the “Bullpen” to the “holding area” where they will line up for their lanes.
  • Please assist in making sure that your child stays close to the bullpen so they are easy to find and don't miss their event.
  • What to bring: Swimmers need to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated in the heat, 2 towels (one to dry-off; one to sit on because they are in the grassy area), pair of goggles (or two in case they go missing or a strap breaks), swim cap (swimmers received a team cap), sunscreen, money for concession stand
  • Each event is assigned a number and written on the child's arm. There is a board with event # displayed during the meet so you can keep track.
  • You can access the assigned events on Swimtopia. It is helpful to screenshot this info and use it as your temporary phone background.
  • FOOD - Concessions will have pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, candy & drinks.

No morning practice tomorrow; summer schedule begins on Tuesday, 5/27 with our Kick-off Breakfast!

I think I have covered almost everything!  Feel free to email if you have questions!
