ML's Results + Improvement Labels
Hi!
Thank you for all your help with the meet yesterday. Here are the meet results from yesterday’s meet against Martin’s Landing WITH our 92 IMPROVED SWIMS highlighted and DQs STARRED. We also won: 531-258. The official did not DQ anyone but these are the things I noticed: https://photos.app.goo.gl/zH535HvyXCYK3bUk6
ASA Championship is on Thursday, June 27th! We would love to bring as many swimmers as possible to the meet to see if we can place top three!
Attached below is the heat sheet and personal best times in PDF form.
We greatly improved in kicking, dives, and breakout strokes (first two arm strokes off the wall). We need to work on flipturns and butterfly technique. Stroke clinic on Saturday from 9-10 AM will focus on flipturns and butterfly technique.
Our costume winner for the superhero theme was Gabrielle and Lauren! Next week’s theme has been changed to FAVORITE MOVIE/BOOK CHARACTER!
Below are our hardworking, noteworthy swimmers of the week:
6&u girl - Madeline
This girl is a little ray of sunshine! She comes to practice each day with a smile on her face ready to swim! She never complains and listens in practice so that she can get better and swim faster!
6&u boy - Maxwell
This boy has come such a long way and we have loved watching all his improvement. Now this boy kills it in his backstroke every week and we can always count on him to come to camp practice.
7/8 girl - Eliza
This young girl is new to our team but has come in ready to learn and wanting to improve! She tries hard in every practice and this week she had her very first distance day and she was not going to let anything stop her from achieving her goal, so she gave it her all and she succeeded and we could not be more proud of her!
7/8 boy - Bennet
There was nothing that could get between this boy and swimming distance day with his friends! This kid had camp all week but that didn’t stop him from coming to practice every day ready to do his best and improve! This boy cheers on all his friends and teammates and never backs down from a challenge.
9/10 girl - Paige
This girl is always looking for ways to improve. This could be staying after to practice to get a little extra help or learning ways she could help the coaches. She is always supporting her friends and teammates and even if she is nervous for a race she always goes out there and crushes it especially last night in IM!!
9/10 boy - Luke B
This boy has been coming to camp practice every day this week, he always swims with a smile on his face and gives every race his all not matter what! He had a great attitude during distance day and had fun the whole time even finishing with butterfly.
11/12 girl - Olivia
This young girl embodies what it means to be swimmer of the week! She is kind, patient, always listens, never complains in practice and is always one of the first in the water! She always asks what can I do to help and she is one of the most selfless people at such a young age, the other day she saw a friend in need whose goggles were leaking and without even giving it another thought she pulled hers off and gave them to her friend!
11/12 boy - James
This boy loves to help out with the younger kids and learn some of the aspects of being a coach. He swims up every practice with the older kids, always asks how he can improve, and always takes feedback to heart. He gives every race his all and is always cheering on his teammates.
13 & u girl - Abbe
This girl supports everyone, you can always find her behind the blocks cheering her hardest, lending a helping hand whenever she can, or she is your personal hype woman getting you ready for your race! This girl befriends the younger kids and makes them all feel special! She also tries her hardest to improve and each week goes into the meets wanting to drop time and do the very best she can!
13 & u boy - Cyrus
This boy is incredibly dedicated, so dedicated in fact that after a long weekend at a waterpolo tournament he came straight from the airport to practice on Tuesday because there was no way he would miss distance day! He will swim whatever we put him in and always is looking for competition. He embodies sportsmanship and what it means to be a good teammate.
