Neely Mallards day @ Honey Baked Ham & last-minute meet details!

Greetings Neely Swim Families!

Today is Neely Mallards Day at team sponsor, Honey Baked Ham! Visit the location at 9775 Medlock Bridge Road (141 and State Bridge, near Stoney River) any time today for great sandwiches, sides, salads and even full dinners! Be sure to say thanks for supporting our team!

Tomorrow is meet day! We are AWAY at Oxford Mill, 10315 Oxford Mill Circle, Johns Creek, 30022. Arrival time for swimmers is 4:15 pm. Parent volunteers, please be there no later than 5:00 pm. The meet will start promptly at 5:30 pm.

About swimmer entries…Coach Madison is still seeding swimmers based on their ability to swim strokes LEGALLY (i.e., correctly). We’ve reached the point in the season where ASA referees will disqualify (DQ) swimmers for illegal strokes. (And we can expect that for the remainder of the season.) With that in mind, Coach Madison is also seeding based on times, with the intent of earning points. Your swimmer may or may not swim the events you want him or her to swim. Please be supportive anyway. It is against ASA rules for us to change swimmers’ events during the meet. Please don’t ask; we can’t do it. Lastly, Parents, please DO NOT change the order of swimmers in relay races! (For all the reasons above.)

Oxford Mill has a large pool deck and we’ll be setting up the team tents. Our bullpen will be on the pool deck closest to the parking lot. We’re expecting 95 Mallards, so it will be tight, but that’s where we’re staying. Please keep swimmers under or near the team tents.

The Oxford Mill concessions stand will offer Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and nuggets, pizza, hot dogs, buttered pasta, nachos, apple slices and the usual drinks, candy and chips. Please bring snacks for your swimmers if none of their offerings will work for them.

While Oxford Mill has a sizable parking lot, some families will need to park on the street. Please park on only ONE side of the street!

The Weather Channel says we can expect cloudy skies and cool temperatures tomorrow morning, but by early afternoon we should see the sun. The high tomorrow is expected to be 77. While that may seem lovely (and a welcome relief!) to parent spectators, the temps will seem chilly to wet swimmers. Please bring extra towels or blankets and spare warm clothes for your Mallards…especially the little ones!

If I’ve forgotten something or you need to reach me on meet day, please text me at (678)525-1184. You may also text Coach Madison at (404) 623-5538.

Thank you, and see you at the pool!

Christine
