2nd Meet & Upcoming Events

Greetings Neely Swim Families!

Congratulations Mallards and parents for a great first swim meet! There were a number of nail-biter races and it was great to hear the whole team cheering!! Thank you volunteers for all your hard work.

We currently have 24 undeclared swimmers for this Thursday’s home meet against Country Club of the South. If you’ve not RSVP’d for your swimmer, please do so HERE and specify Attending or Not Attending by tonight. I expect CCOS to bring at least 100 swimmers, so we need all of our Mighty Mallards in the pool!

We are in need of two second half Timers, a Master Recorder and a Grill Cook for the meet. If you’ve not already RSVP’d for a job, you may do so HERE.

We will have TEAM PICTURES taken this Thursday BEFORE the meet. Check-in time for swimmers will be 3:30 pm. Please have swimmers wear their Team Shirts. If your swimmer hasn’t picked up his or her shirt, l will have the remaining unclaimed shirts at morning practice this week.

The Weather Channel says we have a 50% chance of thunderstorms the evening of our swim meet. Cross your fingers for clear weather until after the meet is over! Also, please download the REMIND app if you’ve not already done so. Instructions are HERE. Coach Madison will use this app to communicate swim meet delays and/or weather cancellations.

This Wednesday, June 5th at 6:00 pm we will have our first team dinner at Team Sponsor, JR’s Log House. Please RSVP HERE by Tuesday evening. JR’s has graciously offered the team a 20% discount, so be sure to tell your server you’re with the Neely Swim Team.

Congratulations to our Swimmers of the Week who were rewarded with yard signs at Fun Friday! Mallard Parents, please be sure to return the signs at this week’s Fun Friday.

Stroke Clinics will be held Saturday, June 8th, 15th and 22nd. This Saturday, Coach Madison will focus on Breaststroke. Clinics will be held from 9:00 to 9:30 for swimmers 10 & under, and from 9:30 to 10:00 for swimmers 11 & up.

Monday, June 10th we will have our Annual Distance Day Challenge instead of morning and afternoon practices. This is an OPTIONAL challenge designed to prove to the swimmers they can swim farther than they think they can. You’ll find the distance goals HERE. Swimmers who successfully complete the challenge within the required time will receive a challenge gift at the End of Season Banquet.

Again, thank you all for a well-executed first swim meet, and thank you Katie and Halle for helping dish up scrambled eggs, bacon and biscuits at the Kick-off Breakfast!

See you at the pool!

Christine
